Thank You, Seputeh Residents

Message from Seputeh Residents' Association president Robert Quah:

Dear Fellow Residents,
I sincerely wish to thank all those residents who made time to take part in the Seputeh Residents' Day -- You all really made it Your Day.

It was certainly very heartening to see the support & response rendered to SRA.

We are happy to welcome 40 new members who signed up on the spot this morning. Welcome on board and let's all work together for a better, safer and more progressive Seputeh -- gated or non-gated.

The Committee is definitely motivated to work harder & do more -- and we can achieve more with your support and encouragement.

Regards,
Robert Quah.

An email response to SRA February newsletter

An email in response to our February newsletter:

Dear Chairman of SRA,

Congrats to the newly elected committee.
The Feb. newsletter highlights a number of proactive initiatives that is being taken by the committee and this is a good start.

Regarding the issue of hiring private security guards to patrol our housing estate, I am one of those who are supportive of the idea.
What is important is the cost each house owner has to contribute. If it is a reasonable amount I think we should all chip in so that we have a more secure neighbourhood.
I hope more residents will put in their vote so that the scheme can take off.
But there is bound to be some parasites who just want to enjoy a free ride and this will pose some problem for the majority.

New resident seeks to join SRA

Here is an encouraging email received from a new resident which we thought we should share with all residents. The full name and address of the sender was provided and we have removed them for privacy reasons.

Hi the SRA Committee,

We are from No.x Jalan xyz, Taman Bukit Seputeh.

Having moved in since Sept 08, we are happy with Seputeh with its quietness, greenery and the friendly neighbours.
Seputeh is special as it's not like the closed-by commercialised neighbourhood filled with shops, restaurants and traffic. However it still could not run away from having the same problems just like anywhere else - increasing crime rate..
Coming from a small family with a young son, we care and constantly worry for our loved ones. We are therefore fully supportive of a paid security scheme.
This has proven to be an effective deterrent in keeping our home away from the criminals and reducing the crime rates.
A good example is Seri Petaling which used to be popular with the 'Parang Gang' that was every resident's fear, recently implemented the similar scheme by recruiting security personnel to guard the neighbourhood and keep a close watch on cars & new faces in and out of the area 24 hours.
By each household footing out RM60 every month, the residents now have good night sleep every day. This scheme will definitely be easier to be implemented in Seputeh since we have limited entrances / exits for getting in and out.
On the issue of not everyone agreeing to pay for the scheme, could I suggest the following adopted by Seri Petaling residents - have every house who is under the scheme labeled with the special stickers on their gates indicating their respective allocated no.
Therefore houses without the special stickers - sorry no attention will be given to you by the guards during any incidents whatsoever.
Hope my above suggestion could be considered and looking forward to SRA implementing the security scheme real soon.
P/S please advise where to obtain a SRA registration form. Thanks and have a nice day.

Mr and Mrs <>name provided>

We responded to that by inviting her to join this Saturday's Residents' Day and to sign up there and then. We may drop a form in her post-box sooner as well.
